Top loaders by thickness: Ultra PRO vs Vault X, 35pt to 130pt
A 3" × 4" top loader for a standard card is rated 35pt. Thicker cards need a thicker top loader. Here is what each maker publishes.
What the numbers mean
Vault X publishes the inside size (70 × 98 mm) of every rating; Ultra PRO publishes the outside size (3" × 4"). Neither is wrong, but only an inside size tells you how much room a sleeved card has.
Both makers say their standard top loaders take a soft-sleeved card. Ultra PRO's Penny Sleeves page lists its Regular and Premium top loaders as compatible products.
Ultra PRO rates its semi-rigid holders to 35pt and calls them "the ideal protection choice for graded card submissions".
